The first appointment with us normally consists of a physical examination of your dog or cat and consultation with you. At that time, your veterinarian’s medical records if available, and pertinent dental x-rays are reviewed. Please confirm we have these records or bring them with you to the appointment.
Our doctors will perform a physical examination of your pet including a visual oral assessment. Treatment options will be provided and discussed with you during this initial consultation. In that most dental disease resides below the gum line, further examination is generally needed before an accurate treatment plan can be formulated. In that anesthesia is involved with the assessment and treatment the recommended pre-anesthetic testing will be discussed with you. Most procedures are performed the same day as the consultation.
